Haywards Heath

Tell us about you!

I have a small dog who I love to bits so I enjoy taking him to the park. I like to read crime thrillers and I enjoy watching old TV series which I didn’t see the first time around.

I don’t have any experience of physically caring for someone. I feel now is the time for me to give something back instead of working just for myself.

I really feel for lonely people who have to self-isolate during this awful time that we are going through and would like to do something useful with my time.

I previously worked for Sussex Police until November 2019.

Availability: I would be happy with one or two hours a day. I am flexible on days and times.

I love animals, music, walking alone or with my dog. I enjoy board games, reminiscing about one’s past and assisting the elderly with exercise.

I enjoy motivating people who can be lonely or depressed. Although I am not a qualified grief counsellor I am very good in providing comfort to those who’ve recently lost a loved one.

I currently care for my elderly 88 year old uncle. He had a stroke four years ago and sometimes has a risk of falling. He suddenly sadly lost his wife (my Aunt) in February.

I also have experience working for Age U.K West Sussex as an activity/support worker, I created programs, event lunches and hold a level 1 in chair exercise.

Tell us about you!

Hi there, I am a very family oriented person. I am extremely bubbly and very chatty. I think that social skills are an extremely important part of care giving.

I also possess the ability of being sensitive enough to know when it needs to be quiet or a little calmer due to how somebody is feeling on the day.

I love to walk my little French bull dog with my children. I love to read when I get the chance. I love making nice meals and having family and friends over or going out for food.

I have lots of care experience. I have worked for various care companies, I have a lot of experience in palliative care which requires two carers and can involve hoisting and lifting our clients in and out of bed, toileting them, washing them dressing them and assisting to lead as comfortably life as possible.

I have experience in single calls requiring more of courtesy call or helping to wash, dress, assist with medication or tidying the house up, putting the washing on and generally helping to do tasks that some people are unable to do in later life.

I have completed various first aid and manual handling and medication courses over the years.

Availability: After 9 am in the mornings and any time throughout the day up until 9pm

Tell us about you!

My name is Sally. I am married with four teenage children. Originally I trained as a nursery nurse working both as a nanny and with special needs children in school. While my own children were small I enjoyed being a stay at home mum. I’ve always enjoyed making my home an inviting place and love baking, sewing etc.

I am a very calm and caring person who enjoys listening to older people and learning from their wisdom and experience. I enjoy volunteering for a children’s charity and until recently I worked at the Faux Flower outlet and coffee shop at Ruckley.

I have cared for my own four children meeting the challenges both of having small children and teenagers. My parents are in relatively good health but two years ago my mother was involved in a serious car accident. They live in an annex to our home and I was involved in looking after her at that time as well as providing meals washing clothes etc for her and my father as well as just being there to sit on the bed and talk to her during a time when she was very low.

Availability: Part time

Any other information?: I am particularly interested in the role in Tibberton as I drive into Newport to collect my son from Adams Grammar each day.
