The CareChooser difference…

Our carer has been brilliant, very supportive, caring, knowledgeable & flexible. She communicates with me, which is key, we have a good relationship. I wouldn’t be able to cope with the ongoing situation without her help & support. She was definitely a fantastic find.

Nether Stowey, Somerset

Chloe loves spending time with her son and taking him out on little adventures.

Chloe’s been doing the same job working locally now for the past 7 years roughly is looking for new challenges.

She really loved helping the residents in a care home on her work placement that she did a few years ago and she loves the idea of being able to help someone who needs it.

Chloe loves to help people and it really does bring me nothing but peace and fulfilment that I can make a positive difference to somebody’s life.

Availability: Maximum hours a week I can do is 20 and I’m ready to start as soon as possible.

Any other information?: Would just like to add my reason for only 20 hours a week and it’s because I have a 3 year old son who is currently doing 3 full days 9-3 at Nursery which is Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Tell us about you!

I’m 25, my main hobbies include rugby, football and driving. With the COVID-19 outbreak these have had to be put back, so more recently I’ve enjoyed gaming, and also continuing to do research based on my degree, which was international relations and peace studies.

The research is to make sure I keep up to date with current events and policies, as at some point within my professional career I would like to work for the United Nations as a security advisor.

I have had nearly 3 years within the care industry. This started with supporting young men with autism and learn difficulties within a residential setting, this was to ensure that they had as much of a “normal” life as possible.

With activities done daily, from walks, swimming, theme park day trips and much more. I was in this job when the first lockdown was put into place, so saw first hand the impact this had on the countries’ most vulnerable, not only in health but also in understanding what was happening.

Most recently I was a home helper/companionship for the elderly. This mainly involved helping with meals, cups of tea, cleaning, doing tasks that they were no longer up to and just generally keeping them company.

I also have a grandfather that has Parkinson’s, so I have experience in what that can be like for both the person with the disease, and those close to them. Of course not everyone is the same, but I believe I have enough knowledge to at least know what to expect.

Availability: All weekday and weekend mornings.

Tell us about you!

I had a baby in May 2020, so currently I really enjoy going out for fresh air walks. Sitting down and enjoying films and play time. However before having a baby and Covid I was a social butterfly I loved going away for weekends exploring, swimming, and reading!

I have got experience with care work, I have worked with the elderly living with dementia and Parkinson’s in a care home. I have also worked as an agency care worker, so managed to gain experience with people living with mental health difficulties, people living in nursing and residential care.

I have also worked with people living with autism, and worked with one special person that was visually impaired. I have qualifications in early years and child care as well as health and social care - I studied this whilst I visited a lady 2 hours, twice a week, she was living with dementia but these two hours entailed helping with housekeeping, ensuring she had fresh cups of tea, talking to her about life and playing games with her.

Availability: I am flexible with days I can work, however hours of work aren’t easy to be flexible with due to being a mother, I am looking for a minimum of 16 hours so preferably 4 hours 4 days a week.
