Tell us about you!
I’m 25, my main hobbies include rugby, football and driving. With the COVID-19 outbreak these have had to be put back, so more recently I’ve enjoyed gaming, and also continuing to do research based on my degree, which was international relations and peace studies.
The research is to make sure I keep up to date with current events and policies, as at some point within my professional career I would like to work for the United Nations as a security advisor.
I have had nearly 3 years within the care industry. This started with supporting young men with autism and learn difficulties within a residential setting, this was to ensure that they had as much of a “normal” life as possible.
With activities done daily, from walks, swimming, theme park day trips and much more. I was in this job when the first lockdown was put into place, so saw first hand the impact this had on the countries’ most vulnerable, not only in health but also in understanding what was happening.
Most recently I was a home helper/companionship for the elderly. This mainly involved helping with meals, cups of tea, cleaning, doing tasks that they were no longer up to and just generally keeping them company.
I also have a grandfather that has Parkinson’s, so I have experience in what that can be like for both the person with the disease, and those close to them. Of course not everyone is the same, but I believe I have enough knowledge to at least know what to expect.
