Private Care in OX29 - Claire

Near Oxford

I have cared for family for the last 9 years. I started in 2013, working for the elderly gentleman who was living with Alzheimer’s.

In the early part of 2014 he was sectioned and I was asked to help on weekly basis for his wife and sister in law. It started as companionship and developed over time.

I am empathetic, discreet and fun.

Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, running, dog walking, entertaining and reading.

I have personal experience of care as until very recently been caring for my mother who was living with dementia and lived with us at home before going into a care home in Kidlington.

I would love to find a similar role caring for someone in their own home who might need additional support with their daily life as I got tremendous satisfaction from being able to care for my mother.

Claudia is bright, empathic, kind, a great singer and a lovely person to spend time with.

Private home care in Bicester - Tanya

Tell us about you!

Hi, my name is Tanya.

I have run my own 2 businesses since 2003 as both a nail technician and my cleaning business. I have only been working part time recently, but throughout my career the thing I have loved the most is doing pedicures for the older people because they really enjoy and appreciate my treatments, as well as the companionship.

Most of my cleaning jobs throughout the years have also been more for the elderly and they have enjoyed my company also and enjoyed to chat. I am very interested in this position because I am looking for some kind of care work, because I am extremely caring and enjoy supporting people. I enjoy being around people and talking a lot, I enjoy drawing, swimming and walking.

I worked for 3 years for an elderly couple in Woodstock, where I initially just started cleaning for them, but as they got to know me more, the lady was living with a disability and her husband was living with Alzheimer's, so they gradually asked me to do more things for them, like take them both shopping, I used to take her husband out to the cafe also for a coffee, which he really enjoyed.

Later on they even asked me to start helping them with some of their phone calls and help with their utility bills, I really enjoyed helping them and I used to go to help them also 3 times per week, which is why this position sounds ideal to me.

Availability: Monday to Friday 9am-6pm but only part time within those hours to a maximum of 20 hours per week.

I am happy to travel up to 30 minutes, so the location of Chawley suits me really well as it is a 25 minute drive.

I love baking, nothing special, just cakes and things! I’ve also learned therapeutic massage at a previous job! To be fair I like a lot.of things!

I’m family orientated and have professional experience in care. My nan was also living with dementia so I know how difficult it can get, so it does hit home with me.

I have around a year and 9 months experience in care and support. I cared for a lady living with Meningitis. I supported her with her mobility and helping out with day to day tasks and with meals. I also took her out and spent time with her.

I also cared for a boy with cerebral palsy . My role was to help him and educate him as well as help out with his daily routine. During this period I learned a lot about caring for someone living with special needs. I also have experience supporting a boy living with severe cerebral palsy.

Happy to help out with cleaning if needed.

Tell us about you!

I love to bake, I've spent almost every day during lockdown baking cakes, breads, scones etc to share with friends, family and neighbours. I love having family movie nights at the weekend. I am married with 3 children, 1 who has now left home and 2 teenagers.

I was carer to my eldest daughter who has a medical disability. My friends son also has severe disabilities and I often look after him. I do not have experience with older people other than my own mother, however other than company she requires no extra care. I do think my mum helps me empathise with that generation.
