Tell us about you!

Hello, My name is Leon, I'm 29 years old. I'm a very caring, compassionate and patient person. I always put other people’s needs before my own. I'm great at making people feel good about themselves and I believe I have excellent communication skills.

My hobbies/Interests are: Cooking (My previous job was a chef) I go to the gym to keep myself fit and healthy and I also believe going to the gym is good for your mental health as well as physical health.

I do not have any training or qualifications in care work. But I believe I am a very caring person with the willingness to learn how to care for people, I am also very patient and I can get along with anybody.

One of the main reasons I want to care for people is because in 2012 I had a serious operation and I wasn't able to care for myself and I needed a carer to help me with some day to day chores. Seeing how the carers, cared for me first hand was amazingly inspiring and has helped me decide to become a care worker.

I'm a hard worker, good at time keeping and always have a smile.

Availability: I can work any days/time of the week up to 16 hours/week.

Tell us about you!

I have always enjoyed working in healthcare as I truly care about every client I get the privilege of working with. I enjoy spending time doing arts and crafts with clients and digging deep into their past so I can get to know them. I aspire to not only be their ‘carer’ but a friend, and a companion who they can confide in. It’s truly my passion and I will forever love what I do.

I also enjoy studying psychology, the human mind fascinates me.

In my free time I make jewellery on the side as a little business and care for my son, who is now 2 years old. I love the fresh air, and getting creative with my boy.

I am currently 22 years old and live in a gorgeous little flat on the seafront in Worthing. I am incredibly lucky, and life is perfect to me when caring for people, as well as doing my jewellery making.

I have 4 + years’ experience in healthcare. I have worked firstly in a nursing home with people living with a wide range of illnesses and disabilities. I worked alongside nurses and learnt a lot in my time there.

I have worked in a mental health home with adults 18+ all living with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression. My time there was extremely eye opening and I have become so much more aware of non verbal communication and change in body language, which is incredibly important too when working with people living with dementia. In this time I also experienced being a dedicated keyworker to two ladies, which I enjoyed very much. We would go out into the community a lot which was lovely for them. I would assist them with meals, laundry and cleaning too.

I have primarily worked with dementia patients and have come to understand how different each person is. Dementia is a term for a wide variety of symptoms and diseases, the most common being Alzheimer’s.

Working with patients living with dementia has been challenging at times, it takes patience, compassion, and so many more qualities to look after them effectively. I’ve learnt that it is important to make them feel safe and respected. This experience has also come from working in a care home for the past year!

I will here list some of the trainings I have completed:
- Dysphasia Training
- First Aid
- Paediatric First Aid
- Manual Handling
- Care Certificate
- Food Safety
- Mental Health Awareness
- DOLLS

Availability: 2 days a week max. 1 long shift preferred.

Tell us about you!

I am a very active person, I enjoy the outdoors and keeping busy. I like running and attending the gym and also love to play squash. I’m a dog lover and I am lucky to live with 2 German short haired pointers who I take out regularly. I’m very friendly and outgoing and love to spend time with family and friends.

At the moment I am currently a 999 call handler for the ambulance service. The job is very demanding and has opened my eyes massively to people’s daily needs and requirements. I find the job rewarding but not as much as it could be…

Many of our calls do come from elderly patients who are alone and have no support and could be having a minor problem such as having trouble with medications. As the call is 999 it pains me to have to rush the conversations with these callers as I do find these the most rewarding.

Knowing that some of these callers haven’t spoken to anyone or interacted with another human being for a lengthy period of time and all they desire is that interaction. Knowing I have made a small difference to their day, just by having a quick conversation with them makes me so happy and this is why I would like to work with you and be able to build on what I have already achieved.

Availability: Flexible
