Tell us about you! I’m an experienced and professional carer with a background in working with children, adults and the elderly and terminally ill. I’m fully flexible on hours of work and own transport. I look at my career in care as a calling rather than a job!
As a clinical trained carer I have very strong communication and listening skills, sensitivity to people’s needs, a sense of humour and a calm and gentle demeanour enables me to build rapport and trust with people of all spheres of life.
I have a genuine love of people, learning about their stories and spending time with them. However, I am also very respectful of people’s boundaries, privacy and dignity and treat each person as an individual.
Even prior to working as a clinical carer, I feel that my work history provided me with all the necessary transferable skills for the role so that it was natural for me to move into this more rewarding and fulfilling career field.
I have experience of people facing roles and I pride myself on my ability to listen and extract information sensitively, building a picture of individual needs and tailoring my response accordingly. My previous background in senior business positions and tutoring involved working alongside other organisations effectively, ensuring legislation, policies and procedures are followed.
My roles within hairdressing and fashion involved building trust, technical expertise, ensuring hygiene, working respectfully with people’s physical space.
During that period of my career I became involved in charity work for men and women recovering from breast cancer and that instilled in me the desire to make more of a contribution to the community.
I enjoy art, art and crafts, the theatre, cinema, walking, fashion, reading, education, history. I also have an interest in pets; dogs & cats. I also like hiking and the great outdoors.
