Tell us about you!

I like spending time with my family. On my days off I normally see my parents & my sister, work on my house (I have recently moved into my own flat) go shopping, watch documentaries on TV.

I have always been in the Catering Industry for work where I have built my confidence, excelled in customer service and grown within the company. I have moved around to lots of different sites to try and boost my career and be focused on developing myself.

As for experience within care, members of my dads side of the family live with Huntington's Disease - a genetic condition which effects you both physically & mentally. I have seen many of my family members live with this condition over the years and loose the battle with it.

My dad has had the condition for many years but it is gradual progression. It has been very progressive in the last 5 years. When he & my mum split up I lived alone with my dad and was his primary carer / supporter. I provided care and support with cooking and cleaning and support with daily tasks, he has now been moved into a specialist Residential Facility permanently so I am slowly getting my dad back. We can enjoy outings, day trips and just spending time together.

Watching this disease take over my dads life and watching him learn to deal with it has taught me patience mostly. I want to offer support to those who need help, because I can.

Tell us about you!

I love drawing, football and rugby, I used to play for Calderdale football team when I was 17. I love to read especially romantic novels.

My grandma and mom both used to be live in carers, I have always wanted to give something back. I have 6 months experience working as a care assistant in Hebden Bridge.

This role included getting to know clients and their interests and needs, helping with personal care like washing, using the toilet and dressing.

I also dealt with handling food preparation, feeding and giving out the correct medication. I also carried out general tasks like housework, laundry and shopping. I loved it, always something to do and it felt great knowing I could put a smile on someone's face every day.

Availability: I am free to work when ever I am needed.

Charlie is compassionate and caring.

Tell us about you! I’m an experienced and professional carer with a background in working with children, adults and the elderly and terminally ill. I’m fully flexible on hours of work and own transport. I look at my career in care as a calling rather than a job!

As a clinical trained carer I have very strong communication and listening skills, sensitivity to people’s needs, a sense of humour and a calm and gentle demeanour enables me to build rapport and trust with people of all spheres of life.
I have a genuine love of people, learning about their stories and spending time with them. However, I am also very respectful of people’s boundaries, privacy and dignity and treat each person as an individual.

Even prior to working as a clinical carer, I feel that my work history provided me with all the necessary transferable skills for the role so that it was natural for me to move into this more rewarding and fulfilling career field.

I have experience of people facing roles and I pride myself on my ability to listen and extract information sensitively, building a picture of individual needs and tailoring my response accordingly. My previous background in senior business positions and tutoring involved working alongside other organisations effectively, ensuring legislation, policies and procedures are followed.

My roles within hairdressing and fashion involved building trust, technical expertise, ensuring hygiene, working respectfully with people’s physical space.

During that period of my career I became involved in charity work for men and women recovering from breast cancer and that instilled in me the desire to make more of a contribution to the community.

I enjoy art, art and crafts, the theatre, cinema, walking, fashion, reading, education, history. I also have an interest in pets; dogs & cats. I also like hiking and the great outdoors.

I am a highly experienced live in clinical carer with over 20 years experience in the following fields of work:
