I currently work for a company who specialise in spinal and neurological care. I have worked with a client since November 2020 in his family home.
I have experience with personal care and hygiene and with Peg feeds. I can read and complete medication MAR charts and administer controlled drugs.
I currently use nebuliser, cough assist machines and a none invasive cpap ventilator with my current client. As well as moving and handling and making the client comfortable. The client is a chatty and well educated individual so we have had many conversations too!
I also have personal experience in care as my mother has MS so I am familiar with this neurological disorder and what it can entail and have helped my mother with tasks that she is unable to do for herself.
I have a level 2 and 3 qualification in counselling skills and I am currently enrolled in a three year course at Scarborough Institute for counselling and Psychotherapy in which once completed will be equivalent to a masters.
I am a mother of two so most free is spent with them. I grew up on an equestrian site so we enjoy horses and quad bikes. Along with leisure activities as a family. When I get quality time for my self it’s important to recharge and focus.
I am due to commence some volunteer work to complete my accreditation hours next year. I hope to work with teenagers and young adults in some form of professional setting.
I am considered friendly, reliable and empathetic at work and amongst friends and family.
