Enfield

Tell us about you! I am friendly, respectful and outgoing. I love meeting new people and I hold a strong belief every human being has value and worth and deserves to be treated with dignity no matter what age or ability.

I have many things that interest me. I very much enjoy history both reading about it and perhaps watching documentaries, as well as visiting historical sites. I also love to travel, be it a new place within the UK or further afield. I have been lucky enough to have seen a good deal of the world. I also love being creative and at the moment I am into trying to up-cycling old furniture. I also have a big interest in music and radio communication, I hold a radio amateurs license.

I’d very much like to work in care because I like people and I genuinely feel I'd get a great deal of satisfaction from this type of work and knowing that I may have made a small positive difference to someone's day.

Sadly I had to care for my father during the end of his life and this involved personal care as well as other things, all though it was a very upsetting situation for us all to be in I was ultimately happy to have been able to help him and share that time with him.

Tell us about you! I don’t usually get much time to explore my hobbies and interests but when I do, I spend some of that time reading. Whether it’s fictional books or doing bits of research here and there. I also quite enjoy getting into my creative mode; so anything that involves drawing, painting etc as ideas just come to me on the spot! Other than that I dabble in anything that sparks my interest!

I have completed the relevant care qualifications to Level 3 health and social care as well as a certificate in healthcare practice. I also completed 2 years of a nursing degree. I have experience working as a healthcare assistant, I’ve gained lots of useful skills and knowledge working in a care home and also in a hospital.

I have experience with patient monitoring, carrying out routine health checks such as urinalysis, weight, height and blood pressure checks.

I am very interested in community care work, something I very much enjoyed whilst training to be a nurse and also one that I’ve always wanted to revisit. I’d like to think of myself as a helpful, friendly person who prioritises others needs in an organised and efficient way.

I believe these are very important factors when it comes to care work especially when visiting individuals in their home. It’s all about providing the best care whilst ensuring comfort and happiness but also great companionship.

Availability: I’m available on weekends, both Saturdays and Sundays. I am happy to work up to 10 hours.

How do the profiles work & what do the symbols mean?

We've have a brief guide and a video explaining our profiles, click here.

Does the carer have a DBS check? (Disclosure and Barring Service - criminal record check)

A purple tick beneath the DBS symbol on the profile reveals the carer has a full enhanced DBS check and this has been approved by us. If the purple tick is not present and it says 'needs checking & approving', the carer has not yet had a check approved by us. We use UCheck to process new checks, they work with incredible speed and usually return the full results of a check within 24 hours!
