Tell us about you!

I enjoy baking and I sometimes bake for people’s birthdays and celebrations. My other hobbies include taking long walks and cooking.

During my 5 years of experience in the care sector, I have become very interested in helping vulnerable adults and children and making a positive difference in their lives. Knowing that the help I offer helps improve their quality of life brings me great joy and satisfaction and this is something that interests me the most in my work life.

I have 5-6 years of experience in the care sector with various forms of training such as manual handling, medication training and many more…

I find that people often appreciate the help and support given to them in their own homes more and they feel more supported than in bigger care settings which is why I think an opportunity in live in care would be a great opportunity for me.

Availability: I can work on any day of the week.

Tell us about you!

I’m a big outdoor recreation fan. I enjoy fishing, mechanics and motorbikes. I also enjoy cooking and baking, watching comedies and documentaries. Reading, listening to music and doing games and crosswords!

My first foray into care was in the '90s caring for my mother in law who had memory loss and my sister in law who was living with Down's Syndrome. In 2005, I landed my first live in care position. This sweet young woman had chronic progressive MS. Very very sad when she passed away.

Then over the years I continued with the same company caring in the community on my week off. I also took a position as a private cook for an aristocratic which was quite an experience! The lady of the Hall was quite a character!

I also took a break from care and for over 2 years and fulfilled a lifelong dream of doing mechanics. While this has no relevance in terms of care experience, it does indicate how I can adapt to new situations.

I am still in the live in care industry on a part time basis, usually to give respite for the permanent carer.
I love the one to one aspect of it.

Availability: Live in care between 10 and 15 days duration.
