This year, I have been a volunteer mentor to young offenders (through Student Hubs charity and the Southampton Youth Offending Service) and during lockdown, I signed up to volunteer with my local charity Chandlers Ford Help which involved delivering prescriptions to vulnerable persons.

I want to work with CareChooser because I love working with others and the opportunity to positively impact someone's life is an invaluable experience.

My passion in life is fitness. I am currently focusing on martial arts and weightlifting. I love these sports because they are goal-driven and allow me to constantly improve myself. I also love the team atmosphere in these sports - everybody supports each other in reaching their own personal goals. 

Do you have a driving license and access to a vehicle?: Yes, I have a driving license & access to a car.

Availability: Any day, morning and daytime preferred but evenings possible. No minimum hours, part time preferred.

I have looked after several people over the past 10 years. I have a good connection with older people and I have enjoyed looking after them.

I feel I have a lot to offer. I'm kind considerate and passionate and take great pride in whatever I do.

I'm self employed, I have run a small ironing business for 30 years.

I have 6 grandchildren which I adore and love spending quality time with them. My husband and I also do wedding photography on weekends and love been part of a couples’ special day.

I love doing arts and crafts and that could be anything from baking cakes to flower arranging. I take great pride in my garden and enjoy spring time when I can start to do tubs and baskets.

Do you have a driving license and access to a vehicle?: Yes, I have a driving license & access to a car

Prefer days I don't mind doing a couple of evenings but would prefer to do 8pm rather than 9.

I am a very experienced carer. Since the age of 18 I have worked in care, I’m now 33.

I have completed the NVQ level two in health and social care qualification. I have worked with a wide variety of people from those with learning disabilities to those with mental health problems, the elderly and the very young.

I enjoy care as a profession because I like to help people achieve the best they can in their daily life. I like to problem solve and think of ways in which a person can be helped to live their life the way they choose.

I also have personal experience of care. Sadly this year I had to help care for my father who was dying of cancer. This means I have first hand experience of understanding what it is like to care for a family member.

I also understand what it is like for the rest of the family to be a carer. In every job I’ve had I’ve had people tell me that I am good at my job.

I enjoy going for walks with my two dogs, I enjoy the countryside. I enjoy going to the cinema and having a coffee out. I like having meals out, I like meeting new people and having a chat. I enjoy films and TV series and curling up with a good book.

In the warmer months I do enjoy a bit of coarse fishing as well.
I would say I’m a good listener and I enjoy talking with people and learning about their lives. I enjoy helping others and problem-solving.

Do you have a driving license and access to a vehicle?: Yes, I have a driving license & access to a car

Availability: I can work every evening.

I am slightly limited on a Friday evening but can still work that day.

I am free on Monday and Friday mornings and I can work Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday mornings before the hours of 7 am.

I have been working in care since 2019 working at a a hospital and at a care home.

I have completed Health & Social Care qualifications and I have completed various relevant in-date training certificates.

I plan on studying adult nursing at university in the next couple of years.

When not working, I'm a keen baker, I make a fabulous chocolate banana cake. I'm a complete book worm and will often find my head stuck in a book.

I am always trying my hand at new things; most recently I began crocheting. When growing up, I was often in the garden with my mother or grandparents and have acquired quite the green thumb as a result.
