I first started working in the care sector in 2019. I worked with a young girl (23), she had spinal muscular atrophy.
She had a fabulous wheelchair which we travelled around the UK and to Disneyland.
She required special dietary requirements and followed MAR charts. We also used the hoist and slide sheets for moving and personal care. I recently achieved my access level 3 health diploma.
I then followed on to work with a young boy (11). He had quadriplegic cerebral palsy, and he required a lot of medication and 24-hour care. I received a lot of knowledge of jejunostomy, peg feeds, speech and language therapy, and physio.
Growing up, I've cared for my younger sister, who has learning and speaking difficulties. I've always been there to help with communicating her needs, personal care, and life skills.
People say I’m the 'mum' figure of my group, my friends and colleagues are always coming to me for advice. Although I'm quite young, I've always been told I'm very mature and organised.
I'm great with talking to people and understanding their needs. However, in my spare time, I'm currently renovating my house. I love interior design, going out shopping, and travelling around the UK camping.
Do you have a driving license and access to a vehicle?: Yes, I have a driving license & access to a car
Availability: Full-time day shifts. Would need to give 4 weeks' notice as currently employed
